Remembering Reem & Tariq on Reem's shared birthday with Jiddo Khaled.
The world watched, heartbroken, as Palestinian Khaled Nabhan mourned the death of his granddaughter Reem, calling her "the soul of his soul" (روح الروح). Reem Ali Badwan, aged five, and her brother Tariq were both martyred in Gaza as a result of the relentless air strikes by Israeli forces. In an interview (warning for distressing content), Khaled said he and Reem shared the same birthday on December 23, but he will not be able to celebrate his now that she's gone. Let's make December 23rd, what would have been their shared birthday, a day to collectively donate and contact our representatives in support of Palestine.
